Hello world! After many months of going back and forth, with doubt and uncertainty, about whether to start this blog, I’ve finally decided to just take that leap and go for it. My apprehension was pretty much reminiscent of the feelings I had when my husband and I were making the decision to start having babies. Coincidentally, the same types questions popped into my head such as, “Am I ready for this?” “Do I have enough time and energy?”, “Do I really want to give up my precious sleep?” , “Am I going to be a good enough mother (blogger)?” I’m sure similarly to raising a baby, blogging is a huge responsibility and time commitment. At the time, being a wife, mother of three, full-time first grade teacher, and blogger didn’t seem feasible to me. Instablogging was time consuming enough.
But, there was a tiny voice inside me that kept encouraging me go for it… well, actually there were a few other tiny voices that belonged to my husband and my friends, too. Blogging is something I have always wanted to do, but never had the confidence in actually pursuing. However, what actually solidified my decision was something that Joanna Gaines, my idol, had said at the end of her book, The Magnolia Story. She wrote,
“Go and find what it is that inspires you, go and find what it is that you love, and go do that until it hurts. Don’t quit, and don’t give up. The reward is just around the corner. And in times of doubt or times of joy, listen for that still, small voice. Know that God has been there from the beginning — and he will be there until … the end.”
OMG, she was speaking directly to me, at least that was what I believed at the time. Soon after, I started to listen closely to that small voice in me.
Honestly, I had no idea where or how to even begin a blog. But, after a lot of researching other blogs, which I found very inspirational, and watching numerous video tutorials, I was at least able to get to this point. I guess similarly to teaching and motherhood, I will learn through experience and of course, from making mistakes. So, ready or not…welcome to my new baby!
I hope you enjoy and visit me often! xo
